Szarotka Zakopane

This cosy guesthouse can be found nestled in the woods at the foot of the mountains, just ten to fifteen minutes away from the bustle of Zakopane’s centre. It has been going since way back in 1933 and has retained a local charm increasingly hard to find anywhere else in town. Log fires, hearty Polish food and friendly staff all contribute to the homely atmosphere. Szarotka is much more than just a roof over your head! No wonder then, that most guests find themselves coming back time after time.

The owner had a very friendly attitude, even though we could not understand each other's language. We did miss a free wifi

A very pleasing traditional Hotel with a homely welcome. Good location about 15 mins walk from the centre of Zakopane. Rooms are en-suite and clean. Breakfast lovely. Rates very reasonable.

This place was a little find. After turning down many hotels in Zakopane for being too expensive we decided to stay here. At first I felt a little let down with the room, but then my wife reminded what we were paying per night and on reflection it's amazing value for money and the kind of place I would always stay at when looking for a cheap option. There was lots of amazing old skiing and winter sports memorabilia in a great little living room with a warm cosy fire. They even brought us home made apple pie! The staff were fantastic and the owner extremely friendly. I will definitely be back and for some skiing next time. Oh yes and breakfast was fantastic too.

Very much a homely guest house atmosphere. A little walk to the town centre, but no more than 10 minutes. Very good food provided in the downstairs restaurant.
