Saski Krakow

This hotel has become something of an in-the-know hit amongst travellers who don't want to break the bank. Saski offers a classic flavour of Krakow but at affordable prices. Is there a catch? Not that we've discovered so far. It may not boast the luxury of a five star hotel, but it has all the comforts and trappings that travellers are looking for. There's the superb location just a few steps from the Market Square, the Old World elegance (Saski was originally opened a century ago and it still boasts the most charming lift in all Krakow) and a fine restaurant next door. An unbeatable mid-range choice.

Excellent location, helpful staff

Guest 10th July 2015

Location is really close to the square, but noisy at night from an adjacent late hours club. Not sure what they can do about that. They do need to have better wireless service, it was quite spotty.

Jan-Erik Storsve 29th May 2015

I hope Saski we do some redecoration soon because it is very old inventory. But beds are ok.

Monica Newhouse 4th June 2013

6. The location cannot be beat, especially for the price. Not your Beverly Hills Hotel, but will do for sleeping only. No spa services or anything, but the staff is very nice and helpful.

Guest 6th April 2013

The people were very friendly and the location was excellent. My room #130 was noisy at night due to music from a nightclub.

Guest 4th April 2013

The heating was turned on high and couldn't be switched off by ourselves. Furthermore no complaints, nice atmosphere, fine restaurant, friendly reception and easy check-out time.

Hedley Lomas 3rd December 2012

Very good. Would have been good if the restaurant had been open in the evening - to have a drink maybe after coming back. We loved the hotel. We were at the back so no street noise.

Vidar Tromborg 2nd November 2012

According to expectations. Friendly and service minded attitude. Exelent situated in centre. I would have rated Saski to 9 if some wider selection of breakfast.

Guest 1st July 2012

Charming hotel just by Rynek square. We have been there before, and will stay there again. To hot this time of year maybe! Would have liked an electric fan or air-condition. Love the old hotel atmosphere though!

Guest 18th June 2012

Very helpful and polite staff

Michael Hansen 21st May 2012

Att breakfast we had to pay ekstra for an ekstra coup of coffe. ! small thing, but is was with customers

Phil Grant 7th May 2012

brilliant

Ruth Craib 16th April 2012

Excellent location, clean comfortable rooms and friendly and helpful staff. Only small drawback is noise from neighbouring nightclubs at night.

F Shuckburgh 11th December 2011

For the price paid it is excellent. Clean, welcoming and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Lucinda Dunbar 23rd July 2011

The hotel is old, however it was clean and you can not beat the location.

Janice I Hawker 29th June 2011

Very central, lovely old hotel - lift design straight out of old films! Staff very helpful. Only disappointments were (1) the buffet breakfast, because minimal choice. According to the guide book: "best breakfast in Krakow" which could be true but you have to pay extra for it. (2) No air conditioning and pretty hot during our stay. When windows open, almost 24-hour good tempered, talking and laughing from passers-by became 'white noise' to us.

Ingvar Thorell 25th May 2011

Very nice. Good parking. Excellent rooms. Friendly service and very good breakfast.

Helen Heinrich 4th May 2011

While the hotel is kept very nice for the age, the staff were not overly helpful or forthcoming with information when I checked in. They never mentioned anything about the breakfast that was included until I called down to ask the following morning.

Guest 22nd April 2011

Good to stay in a old style traditional hotel. Some of our party had ok rooms, some had very large rooms. In general room facilities very good. Breakfast was pretty good, although not outstanding. Staff were friendly and helpful. Central location was ideal.

Lisa Kilgannon 10th December 2010

Great location but rather noisy at night. The noise is good natured though - mainly youngsters being exuberant. (However, I'm sure someone drove a tank down the road at about 5 one morning - at least, that's what it sounded like.) Take your ear plugs but don't discount it because, for the price, you cannot beat location.

Charles Savona-Ventura 19th October 2010

Comfortable, homely environment

Guest 12th October 2010

The hotel was very clean, reception staff and porters excellent. Was disappointed in breakfast as the choice of bread and foods served in a dark bar and not as good as in other hotels. The hotel was ideally placed for visiting the Old Town

Magda Sereda 26th September 2010

No non-smoking rooms, therefore there was a lingering unpleasant smell, could not keep the windows opened as it was too noisy outside. Have reported it to the Management.

Evelyn Ward 14th September 2010

Very good location, less than a minute's walk from the Main Square. Attractive old-style hotel. Atractive spacious reception hall with comfortable seating. Very pleasant helpful porters. The old-fashioned cage-style elevator was an old-world joy. The corridors are wide, brightly lit, and well-carpeted. Our double bedroom was spacious, high-ceilinged, with two double windows (well-curtained). The TV showed BBC World News & CNN, as well as Polish & German channels. The beds were very comfortable. The shower-toilet was in very good condition and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was good, offering both hot cooked food and cold buffet, although the dining-room decor was a little dated. I would not have classed this hotel as '4 star', but it was generally very clean & 'old-worldey' comfortable, with very helpful staff. Good value for money.

Guest 8th September 2010

clean and well located. good breakfast. weak wi fi

Guest 4th September 2010

It's good and friendly,I think.

Guest 12th August 2010

The people working at the Saski were very nice and helpful. The location is great, just off the market square. However, the rooms that face the street can be very, very noisy, especially in the summer when one has to keep the windows open for ventilation (The hotel has no air conditioning.) In the area aroud the Saski are many restraurants and many clubs. We found that the shouting from young, drunken people leaving the clubs did not end until about 3:00 a.m. There also was a lot of vehicle noise and the church bell rings on the hour as does a traditional trumpeter at the square.

Guest 19th July 2010

Excellent location, great staff, good breakfast, but NOISY from the street.

Professor George Richard Feiwel 3rd July 2010

hospitable, excellently located, first class front office and mgr but naturally signs of age and imposed economy

John Brookes 17th June 2010

Loved the hotel. Lovely period features. Staff were v.friendly & v.helpful, but for the noise emanating from the street until around 3am , which made sleep all but impossible, I would have rated it around 8/9.

Guest 26th May 2010

Very low quality of rooms, bed, space and in my opinion the site-presentation does not give the proper indication of this hotel

Denis Bone 1st May 2010

Servise in all areas was absolutely top quality- again!

Irene Ryan 21st March 2010

Without doubt one of the nicest and friendliest hotels we ever visited, all 8 of us agreed. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the staff were more than helpful when we needed extra breakfast items. Roomes were spotless , nothing was too much trouble.

Virgil Power 7th March 2010

very nice clean hotel with good food and service

David Wylde 1st March 2010

The hotel Saski was great, a bit of style and the staff were equal to it.

Guest 7th February 2010

I really liked the hotel, from the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was wonderful and the location next to the square perfect for exploring Krakow.

Guest 15th January 2010

Good position. Simple, but clean and we were happy with the service we received. More of a family hotel than a modern one, so has lots of character. the rooms were very large with high ceilings. The best thing was that we were right in the middle of the city - great places to eat and drink at all around the hotel.
