Pod Roza Krakow

Pod Roza (Under the Rose) is a sister branch of the famous Copernicus Hotel. Nevertheless, the Rose's pedigree stretches back much further than its sibling. In times past, guests such as Tsar Alexander II and Franz Liszt have checked in here, and after a thorough renovation, the hotel has regained it's status as a favourite with well-heeled travellers. It's a little less showy than the Copernicus but just as sophisticated. The atmosphere is fresh and friendly, the design subtle and rather suave. Full air-conditioning has been installed so you won't have any worries if it's a glorious Summer - you'll have the best of both worlds! Location is superb as you're just a stone's throw from the Main Market Square.

Lovely hotel in an old building with very comfortable and clean room The reception though was less inviting...

Shui K Lau 27th July 2019

Central location, spacious room, quiet property, historical building and superb breakfast. Just love this hotel.

Viviana Zarragoitia 30th May 2019

The hotel was excellent! The staff were very helpful and timely in their service, they made my stay comfortable and easy.

Susan Fautsch 24th May 2019

Clean, quiet, comfortable

Margareta Karlsson 15th October 2018

Sound-reducing glass in the windows would have been nice....

Christian Valdelièvre 11th June 2018

Feels slightly in a need of a renovation

Guest 28th December 2016

there is a slightly spartan feeling about the rooms, for example no kettle or ironing board or spare pillow, but overall the hotel is elegant and very central. the breakfast is excellent.

Maria Lovenholm 20th October 2016

Convenient location, Nice warm rooms, large room, friendly helpful staff, good restaurant, breakfast could be better considering the high price.

Lou Ann Alsip 16th June 2016

This was my second stay at the Pod Roza. I went back because I love the location so near the market square. The room was very clean and I like the heated floor in the bathroom. I only wish that next time I could get a price with breakfast included.

Guest 24th February 2015

It's a charming hotel. Fantastic position and elegant rooms. The renewed bathrooms are beautifull. Someone of the staff wasn't very kind.

Guest 2nd October 2014

A pleasant, older-styled hotel in the centre of Krakow

Guest 22nd September 2014

The hotel was excelant except for noise when people were leaving early in the morning.

Annika Larsen 28th June 2014

Brilliant service from Freebookers. They saved me, alone in Krakow. Pod Rosa was very authentic and perfectly located. I was at the Park Inn at Radisson and moved because I didn't like it there. The only complaint I have about Pod Rosa is that there are no tea facilities in the room and room service is only available from 7pm. I had a neatly flight so couldn't get a cup of coffee.

Michele Maroli 10th January 2014

Very comfortable even if the design of the bathroom sink is only futuristic, but it is not very useful.

Guest 5th January 2014

Well, the location ist good, round the corner of the market-place, but also quite loud. I had a single romm wirh an awful mattresse and pillow, the room smelled quite musty. The breakfast room was very cold, very low heated, and the hotel belongs to a management, who like design but no comfort. (Same in Wroclaw in the Metropol Hotel). The stuaff was helpful.

Miss Diane Moodie 21st February 2013

Lovely period hotel

James Roberts 17th October 2012

A very friendly welcome. Efficient staff willing to help if required. Stylish, high-ceilinged room and good breakfast. Pity it was only one night but will definitely be back

Guest 17th July 2012

The pillows were very uncomfortable; 3 of our 4 family members did not sleep well our first night because of them. We asked for additional pillows for the second night, which were graciously provided, and slept better that night. Also the internet was very spotty in our room -- the room was at the end of a long hallway (#215, as I recall). We could only get reliable service in the lobby which was OK but not what we were expecting.

Randy Iverson 9th April 2012

The staff was very helpful. The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast was very good. The only negative thing I could say was it was a little noisy at times during the night as people walked by the hotel in the early morning hours.

Guest 18th March 2012

very nice hotel hotel staff most helpful so central very clean

Geoff Kayson 6th February 2012

Lovely and helpful staff. Excellent, luxurious hospitality and service. Very clean and well appointed, warm, quiet and peaceful, beautiful ancient and traditional architecture, respectful of its history yet with modern and tasteful facilities. The only complaint; the bed was hard on my back and only one, small pillow.

Loonen Anya 28th October 2011

I loved the location, the interior decoration, and at times it made me think of Milano, not cheap but correct even the coffee but I missed the smile and some warmth ... a good experience.

Guest 27th October 2011

Lovely hotel. Very central. In the Old Town near the Square. Up graded us from a Double which was great. Staff very helpful. We had a hire car and parking is just like London, but you get used to it.

Guest 10th September 2011

Hotel could not get phone to work in room --- otherwise, very nice hotel

Guest 9th September 2011

Very nice, centrally located, but quiet. Friendly staff and clean accomodations. No internet in room.

Guest 25th June 2011

lovely, but entry is looking worn and not inviting.

Eric Patton 29th October 2010

Very lovely. Also: best scrambled eggs I've ever had in my life. And when I had to leave for my flight before breakfast (unfortunately, because of a misunderstanding with the desk staff about how long it would take me to get to the airport, but that's partly my fault), they sent me away with a huge bag of food. A really nice experience.

Guest 10th October 2010

Great hotel. I would have loved a kettle in the room though, and coffee / tea etc.

Guest 28th September 2010

Excellent hotel in a great location!

Guest 12th September 2010

the room was lovely but the bed was nothing less than torture.

Guest 20th August 2010

I enjoyed the Pod Roza Hotel, but there were a few problems that prevent me from giving it a higher recommendation. 1. The first room we were given was directly under the work out room and it was awful. They were nice about changing us, but it was an uninhabitable room. 2. The next room was fine, but it was quirky. There was only one bed side lamp, so my husband could not read in bed. Also, the curtains were hung in an unusual way, where they stood out from the window, so in the morning the light just poured in and directly on the bed. 3. We asked for information about taking a train to Warsaw and we were given bad and/or wrong information twice. The people at the hotel should know about that. On the positive side, the place was clean, furnished well and the breakfast was exceptional.

Gschwind-Willi Daniel 15th August 2010

Nice room, excellent location, very good services standard.

Wayne. W. Alberts 26th July 2010

Wonderful location. Helpful, curteous staff that are happy to help you. Clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast will carry one through the day. Great value.

Guest 7th July 2010

Stylishly furnished and decorated, and excellently situated.

Lesley Jenkins 21st May 2010

Lovely hotel in really good location. Staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Breakfast very good and a lovely room to eat in. Rooms a little dark and corridors a bit gloomy, but overall a really good stay.
